Spanish radio is shaped by the country's regional structure. Alongside national networks, the autonomous communities have their own broadcasters, some operating in Catalan, Basque or Galician rather than Castilian Spanish, which makes Spain one of the more linguistically varied countries in this directory.
Musically, Spanish stations carry flamenco and its pop derivatives, the substantial Spanish-language pop and rock sector, and Latin American imports, which flow into Spain far more than Spanish music flows out.
